On June 8, 2025, Matej Lovše delivered a spectacular performance to win the inaugural edition of My Tour of Slovenia, an amateur cycling event held alongside the professional Tour of Slovenia — following the legendary Queen Stage route to Golte.
The challenging course began in Mozirje, passed through the village of Luče, climbed the steep Podvolovljek ascent, continued through Kranjski Rak, descended over Črnivec, and looped back toward Mozirje before the final brutal climb to Golte. In total: 82 kilometers with nearly 2,000 meters of elevation gain — a true mountain challenge! 🚵♂️🔥
Matej claimed both the green jersey (🟢 overall winner)
and the blue jersey (🔵 best climber) in this memorable event.
“The atmosphere along the route was absolutely incredible, and the organization was top-notch. Huge thanks to everyone who cheered us on – it was truly a day to remember,” Matej said after the finish.
This event offered amateur cyclists the chance to ride on the very same course as the pros — a unique blend of challenge, celebration, and community that also promotes cycling tourism in Slovenia.
